Lawrence
D. Spivack, M.D. is among the most experienced and well-trained
surgeons in the United States. He is fellowship-trained and has
completed extensive training as a refractive eye surgery specialist.
Dr. Spivack performed the first FDA approved LASIK procedure in
the state of Colorado. He was named one of the top performing
refractive surgeons of 1997 and 1998, receiving the VISX Star
Award at the annual American Society of Cataract and Refractive
Surgery. 5280 Magazine and KCNC-TV Channel 4 have both consistently
named Dr. Spivack one of the best LASIK surgeons in the Denver
metro area. Dr. Spivack was designated by VISX and Autonomous
as a nationally certified trainer, to train other surgeons in
laser procedures.
He
has performed thousands of surgical and laser vision correction
procedures. Dr Spivack is board-certified by the American Academy
of Ophthalmology and has have taught courses to other doctors
at major national and international meetings of ophthalmologists.
Dr.
Spivack attended the State University Of New York, where he graduated
Summa Cum Laurde in earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in pyschology.
He earned his medical degree at Tufts University School Of Medicine.
He completed his internship training at Presbyterian Medical Center
in Denver and his residency in ophthalmology at the University
of Colorado Medical Center.
Dr.
Spivack is active in giving back to his community. He is the co-founder
of the eye clinic at the Denver Rescue Mission and a staff member
Stout Street Medical Center for the homeless. In his spare time,
Dr. Spivack enjoys spending time with his two sons. He also enjoys
skiing and golf.
